Sometimes the Best Gifts are Unexpected

Lola said it was time, and Mamma knows best.
Our Lola was scheduled for a C-section at the VCA Calgary Trail Animal Hospital for May 10th, funny enough that Murphy's Law is always lurking around every corner it seems. On the evening of May 6th, her temperature dropped and she wasn't waiting for no one. So what does the family do? We roll up them sleeves cause we got to get ready, we got little ones on the way!
What were we to do? This unexpected surprise took a turn for the best.
Rob made the call to VCA Calgary Trail Animal Hospital at 8:00AM on May 7th to update them on Lola's impatient surprise. Bless them because they ended up having a cancellation that day and could fit our beautiful girl in. Now we are off to the races to get there before she pops!
Lola was amazing the whole way while it seemed like we were the ones panicking. At least we remembered the puppy love bucket, heating pad and fuzzy blanket included for pups comfort.
We arrived in good time, safety first when someone expecting is onboard. Paperwork and a weight check are being done before Lola is ushered into surgery. Seems like everyone fell in love with her at the clinic but then again, how could you not! After a short wait, off she goes and the suspense begins.
Our beautiful girl was treated like a total princess and just in time for Mother's Day.
We get the call at 10:51AM on the rainy day of May 7, 2021 that Lola is a proud mother of 6 beautiful and healthy puppies. She ended up having four girls and two boys this time and her surgery was an amazing learning experience for some students that were shadowing at the clinic that day.
We cannot thank the clinic enough for what they did on such short notice, it was nothing short of a miracle how things worked out. Now we were off to meet our new additions to the family and pick up a proud mother.
